Everyone in the mental well-being community must raise voices against the stigma present. Every day and in every way possible. This stigma makes people feel embarrassed within something beyond their control. Even worse, shame prevents people from seeking the help they need. For a group of individuals who are now bearing such a heavy burden, stigma is an unsatisfactory extension of their pain and while the stigma has receded in recent years, the pace of progress has not been fast enough. In case there wasn't the slightest doubt about how our community would react on Facebook, here are some of the ways the Facebook community responded with their methods on fighting the stigma.

Talk Straightforwardly About Mental Health

“I battle stigma by talking approximately what it is like to have bipolar disorder and PTSD on Facebook. Indeed, in case this makes a difference fair to one individual, it is worth it for me.” – Angela Christie Roach Taylor

Educate Yourself and Others

“I take each opportunity to teach individuals and share my personal story and battles with mental sickness. It doesn't matter where I am, in the event that I over-hear a discussion or a discourteous comment being made about mental illness, or anything with respect to a comparative subject, I continuously attempt to utilize that as a learning opportunity and tenderly intercede and compassionate express how this makes me feel, and how we have to be compelled to stop this since it only includes to the stigma.” – Sara Bean

Don’t Harbor Self-Stigma

“I battle stigma by not having shame for myself—not covering up from this world in disgrace but being a beneficial part of society. I volunteer at church, have companions, and I’m a peer tutor and a mother. I take my therapy truly. I'm reason driven and need to show others they can live an important life indeed whereas fighting [mental illness].” – Jamie Brown

Be Conscious of Language

“I battle stigma by reminding individuals of their dialect. It is so simple to abstain from utilizing mental wellbeing conditions as descriptive words and in my involvement, most individuals are willing to supplant their utilization of it with something else on the off chance that I clarify why their dialect is problematic.” – Helmi Henkin

Empower Balance Between Physical and Mental Illness

“I discover that when individuals get it the genuine truths of what a mental sickness is, being an illness, they think twice about making comments. I too remind them that they wouldn't make fun of somebody with diabetes, heart infection or cancer.” – Megan Dotson

Appear Sympathy for Those with Mental Illness

“I offer free embraces to individuals living outside, and sit right there and conversation with them around their lives. I do this in open, and demonstrate kindness for others. Since so numerous of our homeless populace are moreover battling with mental sickness, the basic act of appearing love can make their day but moreover remind bystanders of something so effectively overlooked: the humankind of those who are suffering.” – Rachel Wagne

Choose Strengthening Over Shame

“I battle stigma by choosing to live an engaged life. To me, which means owning my life and my story and denying to permit others to manage how I see myself or how I feel around myself.” – Val Fletcher

Be Fair About Treatment

“I battle stigma by saying that I see a specialist and a therapist. Why can individuals say they have an arrangement with their essential care specialist without fear of being judged, but this need of fear does not apply when it comes to mental wellbeing professionals?” – Ysabel Garcia

Let the Media Know When They’re Being Stigmatizing

“If I observe a program on TV that has any offset comments, storylines, or characters with a mental sickness, I compose to the telecast company and to the project itself. On the off chance that Facebook has any stories where individuals make insensible comments about mental wellbeing, at that point, I type in back and fill them in on my son’s journey with schizoaffective disorder.” – Kathy Smith

This is the unspoken voices of people in the mental health community. The qualities like bravery, strength, and persistence— which are necessary to confront the stigma. In every way you contribute, making a difference but emphasizing and keeping in mind that mental illnesses are not anyone's fault, not yours, not theirs, it is not a choice they can have but instead helping one another will be beneficial to everyone (Greenstein, 2017)
